Kolsai Lakes

Three mountain lakes ringed by spruce forest.

The three Kolsai Lakes lie in a national park in the northern Tien Shan, close to the Kyrgyz border. The first lake is reached by road; the second is a forest hike or horse ride of a few hours; the third is a strenuous climb for experienced hikers.

The village of Saty has simple guesthouses and is the base for Kolsai and nearby Kaindy.
