Iskanderkul

A turquoise mountain lake and a thundering waterfall.

Iskanderkul is a mountain lake at around 2,200 m in the northern Fann Mountains, named after Alexander the Great (Iskander), who legend says passed this way. Its turquoise water is surrounded by bare peaks.

A short walk leads to the "Fan Niagara" waterfall, and there are simple guesthouses and a camp on the shore.
